Baby Ostrichs First day of Running

My running coach leaving me behind to
Die!!! Just kidding, Couldn't have done
it without her!

I think most people thought I was exaggerating when I said how out of shape I am. At least my mom understood… When I told her what I was doing, she thought I already ran… Her first response was “Kristin are you ok, how do you feel”. When I told her I haven’t started yet she repeatedly told me to be careful, she sounded extremely concerned about my well-being.

I’m pretty sure I look like a baby ostrich when I run and no one warmed me that running feels like death. Clearly my lungs aren’t up-to-date with this blog, because they were pretty much nowhere to be found this morning…about 10 minutes in, I literally felt like I was going to pass out, and had to walk. No exaggeration! I was able to go for about 20 minutes, alternating between running and walking (mostly walking). To be honest, if it wasn’t for the 5K, I know I would quit!

A friend told me it gets better and actually becomes fun.. I hope she is telling the truth but she is like a fitness superwoman, so I don’t know if it will ever become fun for me.

I hope the next time I go running this week, I will feel better. I will also try to eat a full breakfast before, and not stay up to 7am like I did today!

On the bright side:
I didn’t sweat too much and the shower after felt like heaven!
